Theme: Healing Higher Education

 

The conference was held virtually from 21-25 June and 161 people registered. The conference was hosted by all the Higher Education institutions in the Western Cape and Elize Archer (CHPE) was part of the Local organizing committee as well as the Chairperson of the Scientific committee.  One of the two keynotes was done by Prof Susan van Schalkwyk. What is noteworthy is that Prof Susan van Schalkwyk was also the winner of the SAAHE Distinguished Educator Award for 2021.

The 2015 SAAHE conference will be hosted jointly with the international organisation The Network: Towards Unity for Health from 12 to 16 September 2015, at the Birchwood Conference Centre in Gauteng, near to OR Tambo International airport. This will be an exciting opportunity to share and network with colleagues from across the globe around the conference theme.

The 2013 SAAHE conference was the 6th National conference of the South African Association of Health Educationalists. It was hosted in the KwaZulu Natal region at the University of KwaZulu Natal  (27-29 June, 2013).

SAAHE 2011 was the 4th national conference of the South African Association of Health Educationalists, and was hosted in the Northern Region at North West Univesity’s Potchefstroom campus  (29 June – 02 July).

The 2010 SAAHE conference is hosted by the Faculty of Health Sciences, University of the Witwatersrand in collaboration with the Tshwane University of Technology and the Universities of Johannesburg, Limpopo, North West and Pretoria  (22 – 24 July). It was the first year that the SAAHE conference is held outside of the Western Cape.

The 2009 SAAHE Conference was hosted by the Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Cape Town and was organised together with the University of the Western Cape, the Cape Peninsula University of Technology and Stellenbosch University  (2-4 July).

Hosted by the Faculty of Health Sciences at Stellenbosch University, 2008), the 2008 SAAHE conference was the inaugural national conference, after four successful regional conferences in the Western Cape (19-21 June).
