Definition
Decentralised training in the health professions is defined as all training that occurs outside of the tertiary academic hospital. It includes community-based, rural, remote, and distributed training.
AIM:
DESIG(N) aims to promote decentralised training in the health professions through a community of practice, research and sharing of best practice
proposed objectives
- To link stakeholders in decentralised training in the health professions including the training, research and service fields;
- To share best practices and evidence on decentralised training in the health professions;
- To obtain and disseminate input into SUCCEED work on developing a framework for effective decentralised training in the health professions;
- To develop a research agenda for decentralised training in the health professions;
- To act as an advocacy body for the promotion of decentralised training in the health professions.
Proposed activities
- Establish an electronic listserv or equivalent that can serve as a discussion group
- Establish and maintain an updated list of interested people and organisations
- Ask SAAHE for a regular space at the annual conference
- Take part in advocacy actions for promote decentralised training (such as?)
